When I moved to New York City in June of 2000, I was one year out of graduate school, my engagement had just ended, and I was starting a new job at the Museum of Modern Art as a studio photographer. Knowing full well that one’s impression of a given place is strongest early on, I vowed to carry my camera daily to capture the events and details of the city which I would surely encounter. These images are a small sampling of what I experienced on my daily commute, and explorations throughout the area.

Hi Todd,
Jason showed me a lot of pictures when last Easter weekend and was impressed by the nuances of the various pictures he shot. I miss the 9/11 shots of the smoke rising from the Twin Towes which wa before and after the shot of the man in the ferry boat. there was an impression of sadness in posture of the man looking away into what I inferred was the 9/11 shots. Were those shots omitted at the exhibit?
When will the exhibit end? Thanks for sharing these shots with us.
