To Plan Mother's Day
The Central association Woman's club held a business meeting yesterday afternoon at the Central association building, which was followed by a social hour and lunch. At the meeting plans were completed for the card party to be given at the Central association building next Thursday afternoon and evening, April 23. The club also decided to take charge and furnish the program for Mother's day to be held May 10 at the Central association building.
On May 8, 1914, the U.S. Congress passed a law designating the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day and requesting a proclamation. The Central association Woman’s club was already planning for Mother’s Day in this April, 16th, 1914 Racine Journal News article.
The Central Association building was at 920 W. Sixth Street.
