Racine College

My dear Mama,
The express
package came this aft. It came Wednesday and was put in the office
and I did not know it.
I have had two
sick headaches this term, the second one ached very much, until
I got that head ache cure. It stopped the pain in about half an
hour, so that I was able to go to study hour.
I think that
Aunt Mame will find it of great service to her. We had our first
composition to write today. I will send it to you when it has been
corrected. Mr. Robinson hears us in Rhetoric and History.
I got through
my speech alright but Yus Burlow stands very well in his lessons.
I think he will be head of his class.
If I can not
get the college horse on Monday I will meet you at the junction
and we will go down to Racine.
It turned very
cold yesterday morning. I have got on thick underclothes and my
speckled suit. I am very sorry the seven o'clock train is taken
off, because I wanted you to stay over Chapel time.
I am well settled
in my studies now, and the time passes very quickly.
I am afraid
you won't bring Art so I will remind you again. I know he wants
to come.
Every once in
a while some of the college students such as Wright, Lunt, and Sibley,
ask me where Pearce is. They all say they wish he was back in the
college with them.
Good bye,
Clarence
