First city hall at Main and Third Streets

Here is Racine's first city hall which sat at the corner of Main and Third Streets. The "Drugs & Cigars" advertisement on the opposite corner is probably for Pokorney's Drugstore, a Main Street fixture for many years. Racine's 2nd city hall dates between 1877 and 1931, so this first city hall would date from before 1877. Visible to the right of the hall is the Thronson Furniture Company, and don't miss the advertisement for the $0.05 Henry George cigars.
