Identified as the ruins of the Eisendrath Tanning Company

This is an abandoned factory on the Root River in Racine, Wisconsin that I climbed into and took pictures from the inside looking toward the river. I really liked the way the plants had grown into the building. The place felt like a lot of people had worked there for a long time. This picture was taken about 1985 or 1986.

Eisendrath tanning company from Gerald Karwowski

Gerald Karwowski: Looks like Eisendrath Tanning Co. ruins next the 6th Street bridge? Low building behind the water tower.

Interesting story about how the Eisendraths came to be tanners in Chicago and Racine: http://www.eisendrath-stories.net/cont_19thcenturystories_david_samson_eisendrath.php
