I know we all have our favorite pizza restaurants in Racine, and mine is Derango’s in west Racine. It was a treat and a special occasion when we went there for pizza. I got to go to Derango’s in summer of 2023, and it brought back a lot of memories. Going to DeRango’s in West Racine was a big treat for my family. I can still remember where everything is — the booths, the counter, the pizza ovens. My brother and I used to sit at the counter watching the guys making pizza, putting them in boxes, and putting them on top of the pizza ovens to keep them warm for to-go orders. When our pizza was done and the waitress brought it to our table, we would switch back to our booth and enjoy that amazing pizza and the pitchers of soda.Edit: It’s bizarre, but every time I look at these pizza photos, I can smell Derango’s pizza!

By visiting DeRango's Pizza Palace in Racine Wisconsin you become part of a long standing family tradition.

Domenico DeRango and his wife Mirella came to the United States December 3rd, 1959 with their two young children Benny and Carmela and not much else.
After a brief time at Belle City foundry, they found their calling at his brother's restaurant.
Meanwhile the family grew with the birth of another son Robert. After years of working for his borther, Domenico and Mirella decided that it was time to go on their own, therefore on March 22nd, 1977, they opened their restaurant at the present location 3840 Douglas Ave.
