Mrs. Elizabeth Adams, 73, widow of the late Michael Adams, died Sunday evening at St. Mary's hospital.

Born in Germany in August, 1859, Mrs. Adams came to Racine in 1900. In 1909 she operated a boarding house, and later the Hotel Adams on Mead street, which she and Mr. Adams erected in 1913.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Susan Gall, Mrs. Magdaline Nelson, Mrs. Catherine Brietzke, Mrs. Elizabeth Morstad, Racine; Mrs. Mary Finch of Florida; three sons, Peter, Jacob and Michael Adams of Racine; 21 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

At noon Tuesday the body will be removed from the Strout Funeral home to the home of Mrs. Morstad, 2222 Howe street, where it may be viewed by friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 8:30 at the home, and at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's church. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Kinzie avenue.

Granitzke-Peterson.

Gertrude C. Granitzke, daughter of Mrs. Madaline Granitzke, 2228 Mead street, became the wife of Frederick Christ Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Peterson, 3029 Elm Lane, at a ceremony performed at St. Lucy's church at 9 o'clock this morning by the Rev. Fr. Belda. Friends and relatives witnessed the ceremony.

A gown of eggshell satin and tan lace and a deep brown hat were worn by the bride, who carried a bouquet of tea roses and yellow button chrysanthemums. Miss Helen Granitzke, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and wore shell pink net. Her bouquet was of pink roses and blue larkspur. Michael J. Adams attended the bridegroom.

Following the ceremony, a wedding dinner and reception took place at the Hotel Adams, where decorations were in orchid and white and fall flowers. Mr. and Mrs. Peterson will reside at 3029 Elm Lane.

Operated Hotel, Mrs. Brietzke Dies

Funeral services have been set for Saturday for Mrs. Catherine E. Brietzke, 78, of 2236 Howe St., who with her late husband owned and operated the Adams Hotel, 2229 Mead St., from 1945 to 1963.

Mrs. Brietzke died Wednesday in her home following a coronary attack. Her husband, Rudolph, died March 12, 1966. Mrs. Brietzke was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Adams who built and operated the hotel.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Arnold Zimmer and Mrs. Lee Fleming, both of Racine, and two sisters, Mrs. Magdalene Granitzke of Racine and Mrs. Mary Finch of Decand, Fla.
